What "web design" actually means here

Most Singapore web design quotes cover three separate jobs and only name one of them. You are paying for the words, the design and the code. Skip any one and you get a site that looks fine and sells nothing.

Every build at Fair Price Web Design includes all three. I interview you for about fifteen minutes, write the pages from your answers, design them around what your customers need to decide, and hand-code the result so it loads fast on a five-year-old Android on mobile data in an MRT tunnel — which is where a real share of Singapore browsing happens.

Included in every website

  • Copywriting — real sentences about your business, no lorem ipsum, no "we are a leading provider of solutions"
  • Custom design — built around your business, not a purchased theme
  • Mobile-first layout — over 70% of Singapore traffic arrives on a phone, so the phone version is designed first
  • Your domain connected, with a free SSL certificate so browsers show the padlock
  • WhatsApp button that opens a pre-written message, plus an enquiry form that reaches your inbox
  • Search-engine foundations — page titles, meta descriptions, sitemap, robots file, structured data, Google Search Console connected
  • AI search readiness — schema markup and an llms.txt file so ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Claude can read and cite your business correctly
  • Google Analytics so you can see what people actually do
  • First year of hosting free, then $240 a year

Why custom code beats Wix, Squarespace and a $200 template

A drag-and-drop builder is genuinely fine for a hobby. For a business that wants to be found, it costs you in three places.

  1. Speed. Builders ship 2–4 MB of JavaScript before your first sentence appears. Google measures that, and so does a customer standing in a lift lobby. My pages are usually under 200 KB.
  2. The ceiling. The moment you want something the builder does not do — a booking flow, a member login, a shop with PayNow — you are either stuck or paying for a plugin that breaks on the next update.
  3. Sameness. There are only so many templates. Your competitor two streets away is using one of them, and possibly the same one.

The counter-argument is real, so here it is: a builder lets you rearrange pages yourself at 3am. If that matters more to you than speed and control, say so and I will tell you honestly that you do not need me.

Built for how Singapore actually searches

Local search and Google Business Profile

"Near me" searches in Singapore are dominated by the map pack, and the map pack is fed by your Google Business Profile — not your website. So I set the two up to agree with each other: identical business name, address and phone number, matching categories, and LocalBusiness structured data on the site that confirms it. That agreement is the single cheapest local-ranking win most Singapore businesses never collect.

AI search — the part most studios are not doing yet

A growing share of "who builds websites in Singapore" never reaches a results page any more. It gets answered inside ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Copilot or Claude, which read pages and summarise them. Those systems favour pages that state facts plainly, mark them up in structured data, and do not hide the important bits behind JavaScript.

So every site I build gets a plain-language facts block, JSON-LD structured data, a crawler policy that explicitly welcomes the AI crawlers worth having, and an llms.txt summary file at the root. It is not magic and nobody can promise you a citation — but a site that cannot be read certainly will not get one.

The Singapore specifics

  • PayNow alongside cards — a lot of local customers simply prefer it
  • WhatsApp as the primary contact, because Singaporeans message before they call and almost never fill in a long form
  • Singapore English and SGD pricing, written for people who live here
  • PDPA-aware forms — you collect what you need and say what you do with it
  • Fast on mobile data, tested at the sizes people actually hold

How long it takes

Seven to ten days for a Starter or Business site, counted from the day the deposit clears and you have sent me your content. E-commerce and e-learning builds run two to three weeks because payments have to be tested properly with real money moving.

The clock is honest about one thing: the most common delay is not me, it is waiting for your photos and your final prices. Send those early and the site goes live early.

What it costs

$600 for up to five pages. $988 for up to twelve, with a blog you can update. From $1,500 for a shop or a course site. Hosting is free for the first year, then $240 a year. Half up front, half when you are happy.

The full breakdown — including what Singapore agencies charge for the same thing and where the hidden fees usually sit — is on the website design cost page.

Straight answers

Web design in Singapore, in plain facts.

How much does web design cost in Singapore?

Singapore web design agencies typically charge S$1,500–S$5,000 for a five-page brochure website and S$5,000–S$20,000 for e-commerce. Freelancers usually sit between S$500 and S$2,000. Fair Price Web Design charges S$600 for up to five pages, S$988 for up to twelve and from S$1,500 for e-commerce or e-learning, with the first year of hosting included.

What is the cheapest way to get a proper website in Singapore?

A one-person studio that writes, designs and codes the site itself. There is no account manager, no sales team and no office rent inside the quote, which is where roughly half of a typical agency price goes. The trade-off is that you deal with one person's calendar rather than a team.

Do I need a Singapore-based web designer?

For a Singapore-facing business, it helps. A local designer knows that PayNow matters more than PayPal, that WhatsApp beats a contact form, what Singaporeans type into Google, and how to align your site with your Google Business Profile so the map pack picks it up.

Will my website work on mobile phones?

Yes. Every site is designed on the phone layout first, because that is where most Singapore traffic arrives, and tested on real screen sizes before it goes live.

Who owns the website after it is built?

You do — the site files and the domain both. Hosting is a service you can cancel at any time and take the site elsewhere. Nothing is locked to a proprietary platform.
